Dr Pushpa Suriyaarachchi is a senior staff specialist in Rehabilitation Medicine at Nepean Hospital and a visiting medical officer at Hawkesbury District health Service. She is an experienced rehabilitation physician with over 15 years’ experience since obtaining her fellowship from Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine.
Her main clinical interest areas are management of falls and fractures; frailty; sarcopenia; Hospital associated deconditioning; amputee, cardiac and neurological rehabilitation.
She is a clinical lecturer affiliated to the Nepean Medical School, University of Sydney. She has authored/co-authored a number of journal articles. She is the recipient of the 2022 RACP AFRM research scholarship for her research study into optimising the exercise therapy protocols for hospitalised patients.
