Manage the effects of Parkinson’s Disease with our expert rehabilitation team
Matilda Nepean offers a rehabilitation program for people who have recently been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease or who require ongoing management of the effects of their condition.
Our individualised program is delivered with input from our multidisciplinary team including physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, speech pathologists and rehabilitation specialists.
Members of our team are Parkinson’s Disease certified with expertise in exercise prescription. Our speech pathologist is Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) trained, which is a type of voice and speech treatment specifically designed for people living with Parkinson’s Disease.
Patient programs are based on individual goals and take into account individual concerns.
Who is the program suitable for
The Parkinson’s Disease rehabilitation program is tailored to the needs of individuals:
- who are having difficulty moving and performing everyday activities living with Parkinson’s Disease
- who are reconditioning after a recent fall and/or injury due to Parkinson’s Disease
- with speech and/or swallowing difficulties
Parkinson’s Disease rehabilitation programs are available as either inpatient programs or day programs.

Access our program as an inpatient or a day patient
Depending on your needs, this program can be accessed as an inpatient (where you stay at the hospital) or as a day patient.

At the end of your program, you will have the opportunity to continue your exercise regime via our day wellness program. This is a program of supervised independent exercise for one hour in either the gym or the hydrotherapy pool.
