Assessment, treatment and support for mental health needs

Based in the Penrith Health Precinct at Kingswood, Matilda Nepean is a private mental health service that delivers assessment, treatment and support for a range of mental health conditions via inpatient or day therapy programs.

Our programs provide expert mental health care and therapies from a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists and allied healthcare providers – via one-on-one therapy and group courses.

Our expert team is experienced in a wide range of mental health areas and delivers compassionate and expert programs, care and support using a recovery-focused approach.

Who we work with

We work with people over the age of 18 years who are experiencing:

  • post-traumatic stress disorder
  • major depression
  • bipolar disorder
  • anxiety disorders, including panic disorder, generalised anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder
  • personality disorders
  • and related conditions

We also support:

  • individuals who may require neurostimulation with rTMS and ECT
  • older persons with mental health challenges

Our inpatient mental health program

Based on best practice and proven therapies, our inpatient mental health programs are outcome-focused and designed to provide you (or your loved one) with the mental health tools and support you/they need.

An individualised program will be tailored for you based on your diagnosis, symptoms and your experiences at different points during your inpatient program.

We will work closely with you to ensure that you receive the best possible support and care during and after your stay with us.

Entry or referral to our inpatient mental health program

You can arrange admission to our inpatient mental health program via a referral from your treating GP, psychiatrist or via a self-referral.

To find out more, contact our intake coordinator to discuss your confidential needs. All prospective patients will have an initial assessment appointment with one of our psychiatrists to assess your needs and to ensure our programs are suited to your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have.

Mental health day programs

Matilda Nepean offers evidence-based mental health day programs that address common emotional and mental health challenges and conditions.

Programs are run by a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists and allied healthcare providers. Programs typically run for between six to 16 weeks and combine both individual sessions and group work.
