At Matilda Nepean, our senior rehabilitation specialists direct and oversee patients’ rehabilitation programs across a range of specialist areas. These include:
- Orthopaedic rehabilitation
- Spinal rehabilitation
- Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation
- Neurological rehabilitation
- Cancer rehabilitation
- Lymphoedema rehabilitation
- Reconditioning (which includes recovery from long COVID)
- Falls prevention rehabilitation
- Parkinson’s Disease rehabilitation
When you participate in one of these programs, you are admitted to the hospital under the care of one of our rehabilitation specialists. You will meet your rehabilitation specialist at your first visit, when they will conduct a comprehensive review and develop an individualised rehabilitation care plan.
Your rehabilitation specialist will oversee your rehabilitation activities and progress, and your day-to-day rehab will be delivered by a team of rehabilitation multidisciplinary health care professionals. Depending on your type of program, this may include physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, occupational therapists, dietitians, psychologists, speech pathologists or social workers.
You will need a referral from a GP or specialist for admission into one of these programs. If you have any questions or require support with this process, please let us know.
