The ribbon has been cut, the plaque unveiled, and the speeches delivered. Thank you to everyone who attended our official opening ceremony this morning at Matilda Nepean. What a morning!
It was a wonderful opportunity to formally recognise and celebrate this new hospital being completed and formally opened with project partners, dignitaries, community representatives, our senior medical team, hospital staff, family and friends.
On behalf of the CEO of Matilda Health Care Dr Harry Pannu and the team at Matilda Nepean, thank you to everyone who attended this morning and joined us for this special event. A big thank you in particular to the Member for Penrith, Mr Stuart Ayres MP, the Member for Lindsay, Mrs Melissa McIntosh MP and Penrith City Council Councillor Ross Fowler OAM for participating in our formal proceedings.
We also extend a very big thank you to our wonderful project partners and supporters including Australian Unity, Matilda Health Care, Taylor, Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District, Penrith City Council and the many other community and health care stakeholders who have supported our vision to develop this state-of-the-art new sub-acute private hospital for the Nepean community.
While the building and its facilities are truly best in class, the hospital interiors are in a league of their own. We’d like to extend a special thanks to our contributing artist Pamela Pauline and our interiors lead Marcela Cuba Chen from nettletontribe for creating such beautiful restorative spaces for our patients and staff.
We are thrilled to report that we are now “officially opened” and we cannot wait to formally welcome our new patients when we open on Monday (February 6).
